CASI UN PUEBLO
(Almost Maine, de John Cariani)
(2011)
Direction and Translation: José Manuel López Velarde
On a clear and magical night beneath the northern lights, the inhabitants of a small town experience unexpected moments of love and loss. The play unfolds through a series of brief vignettes, each exploring different facets of love: falling in love, heartbreak, reconciliation, sorrow, and surprise. Although the characters change in each scene, all the stories take place at the same time—Friday night at 9 p.m.
Casi un Pueblo celebrates the extraordinary hidden within the everyday, and how love, in all its forms, can transform even the most remote corner of the world.
