In their final year of middle school, Micky dreams of becoming a famous rock star, while his best friend Chispita secretly takes care of a stray cat behind their teacher’s back. Guided by the cat, they discover an old LP from a band called Timbiriche. At the very same school—but 40 years earlier—Micky and Chispita meet Benny, a spirited boy who sneaks over the school fence to rehearse with his group of friends. With the help of Miss Dulce, they’re preparing for the legendary contest “Juguemos a Cantar.”

Told through the early hits of Timbiriche, this story leads Micky and Chispita to uncover the true meaning of growing up—and the power of second chances to reconnect through music. Because life is better when you sing.
